Ken Mochizuki was born in Seattle, Washington. He attended the University of Washington and earned a bachelor's degree in communications. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. In 1999, the United States Army hired him to give presentations on the history of Asian Americans in the United States Military.
